Ethereal Revolutions

This photographic series captures a carousel's vibrant energy and dreamlike atmosphere in a Florence city square. Using multi-exposure layering, I transformed the scene into a surreal tapestry of color, light, and motion. The technique involved photographing the carousel from a complete 360-degree range while keeping it centered in each frame. These images were layered with varying transparency and blending modes to create a painterly effect.

The carousel's intricate blue, gold, and pink decorations serve as the focal point, glowing against blurred European architecture. The pastel tones of the ornate facades blend with the carousel's vibrant colors and lights, creating an ethereal ambiance. Blurred figures in the foreground add movement and life to the scene.

 The series presents different interpretations of the same photographs, with layers blended uniquely to highlight specific details or create abstract forms. This approach emphasizes both the carousel's solidity and its surroundings' ghostly quality. Through the combination of motion, light, and layered textures, the series captures the timeless, nostalgic charm of a Florentine square pulsing with magic.
